Bullard in Running for Award - Ipswich Town News
Loan midfielder Jimmy Bullard is in the running for the PFA’s Fans’ Championship Player of the Month award for March. The 32-year-old netted three stunning goals during the month and has become a key member of the Blues’ midfield since signing on loan from Hull City in January.
Bullard faces competition from Bristol City’s Nicky Maynard, Portsmouth’s Jamie Ashdown and Danny Graham from Watford. You can add your vote here.
Meanwhile, former Blues full-back David Wright has been linked with a possible summer return to Portman Road, although mainly as he previously played under Paul Jewell at Wigan prior to joining Town and still lives in the area.
Wright, who has another season on his contract at Crystal Palace, is currently operating in central midfield for the Eagles and it would be a surprise if he was being targeted to fill the right-back role by the Blues.
Elsewhere, it's reported that Newcastle have pulled out of the running for Town striker Connor Wickham, although it's unlikely that they were ever serious contenders in any case.
