Jewell: Wins and Signings Will Get Fans Excited for the New Season - Ipswich Town News
Boss Paul Jewell says winning games during the remainder of this season and bringing in quality signings in the summer will get the Town support excited ahead of the 2011/12 campaign. Jewell feels his squad is currently a few '"big hitters" away from being potential challengers.
Jewell says winning games between now and May will give the club some momentum, as will summer additions: "I also think that if we can sign quality players between now and when we come back, that will get the fans excited.
"There’s nothing like winning games to get people to come to football matches and I think we’ve done OK, but we are three or four top Championship players short of pushing.
"And if we can get a striker or two and one or two other players in key positions, we’ve got a decent squad around that.
"But we need some big hitters, some people who are going to take us forward with goals.”
