Dundee United\'s Goodwillie Linked - Ipswich Town News

Town have been linked with a summer move for Dundee United striker David Goodwillie. Earlier in the week, Blues boss Paul Jewell confirmed that the club have been keeping an eye on the Tangerines with winger Craig Conway previously claimed to be the subject of his interest.

Goodwillie, 22, was born in Stirling and joined his current club as a 14-year-old, coming through the ranks to make his senior debut in 2005. A half-season loan at Division Two Raith Rovers followed starting in December 2009, during which time the 5ft 9n tall frontman netted six goals in 15 starts and one sub appearance.

For Dundee United, Goodwillie, who has won one full Scotland cap having previously played at U16, U17, U19 and U21 levels, has scored 36 goals in 74 starts and 51 games from the bench.

The striker, who recently signed a one-year extension to his Dundee United contract, tying him to the SPL side until 2013, has scored 16 times this season, including the winner in yesterday's 3-2 win at Rangers.

In January, Goodwillie was charged with raping a woman at a New Year’s house party in West Lothian and is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court at a later date.
