Supporters Events at Palace Game - Ipswich Town News

Town’s Supporters’ Club are holding a Day of Supporters Events at tomorrow’s game against Crystal Palace. The day includes chances to meet legends Russell Osman and John Wark as well as present day players and to socialise with Supporters’ Club branches from around the globe.

Prior to the game supporters can meet chief executive Simon Clegg and two current players, who will be in the upstairs bar of the Lloyds Tavern in Lloyds Avenue at an event which runs from noon until 2.30pm. Clegg and the players will be will be there from 12.15pm to 1pm to answer questions.

From the final whistle until 7pm (guests present from approximately 5.30pm) there will be a chance to meet the heroes of yesteryear.

Former central defender and current U18s coach Russell Osman and former team-mate John Wark will be in the Legends bar to sign memorabilia, including the 1980/1981 the Greatest Season in Ipswich Town's History book, which will be on sale on the night.

Later, there will be informal socials. There's a trip to Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket for an evening of pubs and chat (meeting at Rileys Snooker Club at 6pm) or alternatively stay in Ipswich for a drink or several and a bite to eat (leaving Legends at 7pm).

Town moved level on points with second-placed Leeds United following a pulsating 3-3 draw with Hull City at the MKM Stadium having been in front three times. Returning striker George Hirst put the Blues in front in the 19th minute but the Tigers levelled on 40 through Ozan Tufan before Omari Hutchinson put Town back ahead with the first of two brilliant goals. However, Hull equalised again through Liam Delap in the 56th minute, then Hutchinson’s second put the Blues ahead again, however, Tigers sub Noah Ohio grabbed a point for the East Yorkshire side with three minutes remaining and the Blues were unable to take late chances to win it.
