QPR Linked With Bullard Move - Ipswich Town News

QPR will move for Town loanee Jimmy Bullard in the summer, according to one of this morning’s newspapers. The 32-year-old has enjoyed a hugely successful spell at Portman Road with Paul Jewell having confirmed the start of talks with Hull about the possibility of a permanent deal during the close season.

Bullard, who has two years remaining on his £45,000-a-week contract at the KC Stadium, has also said he’d be keen on joining the Blues longer term, however, the chance of a return to the Premier League with Neil Warnock’s soon-to-be-promoted side at this late stage in his career would certainly be of interest to the one-time England call-up.

Meanwhile, released Town striker Pablo Couñago has told club insiders that he plans to return to Spain at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old was at Portman Road on Saturday to watch the Blues’ 2-1 defeat of Crystal Palace, with whom he has spent the season on loan. Couñago's Town contract comes to an end this summer and with manager Paul Jewell confirming that no new terms will be on offer.

The former Celta Vigo and Málaga man has scored two goals in 16 starts and 13 appearances for the bench for the Eagles.

Fellow frontman Kevin Lisbie, who has also been told he will not be offered a new contract by the Blues, has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury. Lisbie, 32, has spent 2010/11 at Millwall, scoring four goals in 11 starts and 12 sub appearances.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are again linked with striker Connor Wickham in a number of today's papers, as he was at the weekend.
