Players\' Awards Evening After Preston Match - Ipswich Town News

The Supporters’ Club’s annual Players’ Awards Evening will take place on Saturday 30th April at Greshams Sports and Social Club (6.30pm to midnight). The event is a chance to meet the first team squad and coaching staff and see presentations to the Player of the Year, the season’s debutants and the Academy Player of the Year.

Tickets costing £17 (including buffet) are available from Liz Edwards in Legends both before and after Thursday's game, by email via the address below or by writing to Irene Davey, 10 Lambeth Close, Ipswich, IP1 4DX (please enclose a cheque payable to Ipswich Town Football Club Supporters Account and an SAE). The dress code will be smart casual.

Voting for the Player of the Year will take place around the stadium at the Preston game on Saturday 30th April and online up to Friday 29th April at www.itfcsupporters.co.uk. The Supporters' Club is looking for volunteers to help collect votes on the day.

Town’s long wait for a derby victory finally came to an end as goals from Cedric Kipre, Jaden Philogene and Jack Clarke saw the Blues beat Norwich City 3-1 at Portman Road. Kipre gave Town the lead in the 32nd minute with his first for the club, but Oscar Schwartau levelled for the Canaries three minutes later, only for Philogene to smash home one of the greatest ever East Anglian derby goals just before half-time. Town had plenty of chances to seal their win after the break with Clarke finally bringing the 16-year wait for derby glory to an end when he netted the third 13 minutes from time.
