Lisbie Could Join Millwall Permanently - Ipswich Town News
Millwall manager Kenny Jackett says on-loan Town striker Kevin Lisbie could join the Lions permanently in the summer. Lisbie, 32, is being released by the Blues at the end of the season.
Jackett said: "We will be talking to Kevin and I’ve already had a conversation with him, but we will finish the season and then I’ll speak to him again then.
"He is on a season-long loan and will be in and around here for quite a number of weeks anyway to get over his [ankle] injury. But to all intents and purposes he is still an Ipswich player.”
Lisbie has already said he'd like to stay at the Den: "I sat down with the manager just before this injury and we had a good chat about the future and I was delighted to be told that they'd like to offer me a contract to stay beyond this season, but that was before the injury.
"Hopefully, things haven't changed too much when we sit down at the end of the season and we can agree a new contract because ideally I'd love to stay here."
Colchester United, from whom Town signed Lisbie for £750,000 in the summer of 2008 and where he spent last season on loan, have said they could be interested in re-signing the former Jamaica international.
