QPR Chasing Murphy - Ipswich Town News

Newly-promoted QPR are interested in signing exiting Town goalkeeper Brian Murphy as Paddy Kenny’s back-up at Loftus Road ahead of their first season back in the Premier League. Murphy left Town at the end of last week having failed to agree a new contract.

However, the former Bohemians man may not want to take on regular bench duties at this stage of his career, having turned 28 on Saturday.

The Irishman has broken into his national squad on a number of occasions but is still to win a full cap, something which he is less likely to do if he isn't playing regularly.

Championship clubs could also target the Waterford-born stopper during the close season.
