Sheepshanks on Wembley - Ipswich Town News
Town chairman David Sheepshanks has added his opinion to the on-going discussion on the future of England's national stadium. Sheepshanks has come out against locating the stadium in London.
Town's off-field guru said: "Wembley is a perfectly awful place to get to for supporters. As keen as I would be to see a national stadium in the London area, I cannot believe anybody in their right mind would choose Wembley if we are starting again. My preference would be to see a new site identified close to a good motorway or road network - perhaps near the M25 - but in or close to London. If such a venue is not possible I would support the Birmingham NEC scheme."
Sheepshanks was an original member of the Wembley Stadium Board.
