Dugarry Linked - Ipswich Town News

Town are amongst a number of clubs being linked with French international striker Christophe Dugarry. The 29-year-old is said to have fallen with the management of his side Bordeaux and was left out of their 0-0 draw with Monaco at the weekend.

He is thought to want to come to England and Town, Spurs, Sunderland and Middlesbrough are all said to be interested in his signature.

Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud confirmed Dugarry's availability: "I will let Dugarry leave if an interesting proposal arrived on our desk."

Confusion reigns on whether Matteo Sereni's red card has been rescinded or not. Reports yesterday said that the Italian's card had been overturned along with Leicester's Lee Marshall's with an official statement following.

Meanwhile other sources suggested the FA was telling them that the decision would be made in four or five days, odd seeing as Town would have to travel to Manchester on Friday afternoon when, if this were to be the case, Sereni still wouldn't know whether his card still stood or not.

When we talked to the FA yesterday the person we spoke to intimated that a decision had probably been made and that the official announcement would be in the middle of the week, as the situation was with Marcus Stewart's red card last season.

We suspect that the original report was correct and the FA are denying it as they are yet to make the announcement officially. With the three video panellists each having to view the tape we wonder whether someone might have heard from one of them what the outcome was already. And besides, he never touched him, did he?
