UEFA Cup at Ipswich Town in Europe Exhibition - Ipswich Town News

The UEFA Cup will be on display at the Ipswich Town in Europe exhibition in the Town Hall Galleries on Monday as part of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Blues’ winning the trophy. The exhibition opened over the weekend and runs until September 3rd.

The trophy will be there from 2pm until around 7pm before it is taken to the gala dinner being held during the evening at which many of the victorious side will be present.

In addition to the UEFA Cup, Town archivist Pat Godbold will also be at the exhibition to share her memories with supporters. Pat joined the staff at Portman Road in 1954 and worked with nine Town managers, as secretary to many of them including Sir Bobby Robson.

Pat said: "Having been directly involved with Ipswich Town for 57 years, I have not surprisingly gathered hundreds of wonderful memories of the club and its players and staff.

"I am really looking forward to the chance to share some of those memories and also to catch up again with friends and colleagues from the glory years of the late 70s and early 80s.”

Prior to the dinner, some of the players from the 1981 team will also be at the exhibition to have a look around the memorabilia and exhibits.

The exhibition is open from 10am to around 8pm on Monday. Details of ticketing for the gala dinner, including balcony tickets for the after-meal presentations, can be found here.
