Shirt Auction to Fund Sponsorship in Fan\'s Name - Ipswich Town News
Town are currently auctioning a signed shirt on eBay to fund academy sponsorship in the name of Blues fan Phil Coppeard, who died in the Christchurch earthquake in February.
In recent seasons Phil, who at one-time posted on TWTD as Cambridge8, worked abroad and donated his 10-year season ticket to the ITFC North of England Supporters Branch with the proceeds put towards sponsoring academy players such as Jordan Rhodes and Ronan Murray.
It was therefore felt that it would be a fitting tribute if the proceeds from this auction were returned to the academy for posthumous sponsorship in Phil's name for the 2011/12 season. You can bid for the shirt here.
A memorial service for Phil is being held in Bury St Edmunds this afternoon.
