Bournemouth\'s Pearce Set to Rejoin Pompey - Ipswich Town News

Bournemouth central defender Jason Pearce, who has been linked with the Blues on a number of occasions this summer, is expected to rejoin Portsmouth today. The two clubs are understood to have agreed a fee last night with the 23-year-old set to undergo a medical at Fratton Park today.

Pearce joined the Cherries from Pompey in 2007 with a 50% sell-on clause included in the deal, an arrangement which presumably put Steve Cotterill’s club in pole position to re-sign him. The clause led to a proposed move to Peterborough breaking down earlier in the month.

Town have also made an enquiry regarding Preston centre-half Sean St Ledger, a player manager Paul Jewell targeted in January. Leicester have also been linked with the Republic of Ireland international.

Meanwhile, Charlton are believed to be the club who have had an offer accepted by Dagenham and Redbridge for winger Danny Green, another player the Blues are believed to have been monitoring. Green is set for talks with the Addicks when he returns from his holiday in early July.

Elsewhere, free agent midfielder Neil Kilkenny, whose agent confirmed interest from the Blues and a number of Championship clubs earlier in the week, is reportedly in talks with Bristol City having left Leeds at the end of the season.

Cardiff are said to have spoken to £2 million-rated Dundee United striker David Goodwillie, another player to have been linked with the Blues over the summer. Earlier in the week, winger Craig Conway joined the Bluebirds from the Terrors.

Former Blue Dean McDonald has moved to Ryman Premier League club Carshalton Athletic from Blue Square South side Farnborough Town.
