Clegg Pleased Swans Dispute Over - Ipswich Town News

Town chief executive Simon Clegg says he’s pleased that Swansea City have paid the Blues the outstanding £300,000 from the Tamás Priskin deal, ending the dispute between the two clubs.

Clegg said: "I am pleased that Swansea have agreed to settle this dispute by honouring the agreement in full, that was reached back in March, and we can now all move on to more important issues.

"I wish Swansea well in their first season in the Premier League and thank their chairman, Huw Jenkins, for his co-operation in this matter."

A Town source told TWTD that the chief executive had been "incandescent with anger” after receiving a letter from the Swans on Friday in which they had again tried to renegotiate the loan deal for the Hungarian. Clegg then called on the Premier League to slap a transfer embargo on the newly-promoted side.

Priskin managed only four sub appearances and one goal while at the Liberty Stadium, a knee injury sidelining him for the final month of his spell in Wales.

Town were owed a bonus of £160,000 relating to the Swans’ success in the play-offs as well as Priskin’s wages.
