Leicester Agree St Ledger Fee - Ipswich Town News

Leicester City are reported to have agreed a £1.2 million fee with Preston North End for centre-half Sean St Ledger, a Town target in January and again this summer.

The Irish international is set to begin talks regarding personal terms with the Foxes and the deal appears likely to go through without complications.

Despite having signed free agent Ívar Ingimarsson after his release by Reading, Blues boss Paul Jewell wants to add another central defender to his squad with Gareth McAuley, Troy Brown and Tom Eastman all leaving the club this summer.

Last week, Bournemouth’s Jason Pearce, another player believed to be interesting Town, joined Portsmouth.

Meanwhile, Leicester are also reported to be in talks with Sheffield United regarding striker Ched Evans, another player mentioned in connection with Town this summer.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman says he wants to keep former Blue Owen Garvan at Selhurst Park, despite his lack of involvement at the end of last season and a £250,000 offer from rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.
