Edwards Banned for a Year - Ipswich Town News
Town right-back Carlos Edwards was fined £7,650 and banned for a year having admitted a number of driving offences at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of driving without a valid licence, two counts of driving with no insurance and two counts of driving without an MOT. He also admitted a further count of a failure to give information about the identity of a driver.
The charges related to incidents in January when he was stopped twice within six days. Edwards is understood to have held an international driving licence which had expired, invalidating his other documentation.
Sentencing, magistrates criticised the former Wrexham, Luton and Sunderland man for repeating the offences having previously been stopped. He was given 22 points, although had already faced an automatic year’s ban.
Edwards accepted the responsibility for the offences and says he has plans to start a foundation back home in Trinidad to coach children.
