McKeown Joining Kilmarnock - Ipswich Town News
Released academy defender Rory McKeown is on trial with Kilmarnock and could sign for the SPL club later this week. TWTD first reported that the Northern Irish U19 international was interesting Killie in May.
McKeown came on as a second half sub in a 3-1 pre-season friendly victory over Linfield in Belfast last night.
The 18-year-old was one of only two players released by the academy at the end of the season and both are off to the SPL. Fellow defender Josh Meekings agreed to join Terry Butcher’s Inverness Caledonian Thistle earlier in the week.
Elsewhere, former Blues midfielder Tommy Miller is strongly tipped to be on his way to Bradford City having been released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of the season.
