Old Boy Wright Training With the Blues - Ipswich Town News

TWTD understands that former Town keeper Richard Wright is training with the Blues at Playford Road. The 33-year-old was released by Sheffield United at the end of the season and is currently looking for a new club.

Wright joined the Blades in September 2010, having been let go by Town at the end of the previous season, but made only two appearances while at Bramall Lane before a knee injury which required surgery ended his campaign early.

The one-time Arsenal, Everton and West Ham keeper’s presence at Playford Road alongside his mentor Malcolm Webster, who rejoined the Blues last week, is likely to lead to speculation that a third spell with Town might be in the offing, however, we understand that the ex-England international is only back at the club in order to get himself fit while he searches for a new team.
