Winger Bid Turned Down - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Paul Jewell says the bid for a winger has been turned down and that he is still waiting to hear back regarding the offer made for a striker. The Blues manager says it’s not a shock to him that the initial bid for the wideman was rebuffed.
Jewell said: "We are trying to bring in a couple more, if not more than that, for the start of the season. One bid, for the winger, was rejected and the other one we’re waiting to hear from."
The Blues manager says that he’s not downhearted and that having offers turned down is just part of the process: "If we bid £3 million they’re going to knock it back, so you may as well bid low.
"Whatever you bid first always gets knocked back, so it was no great surprise that our bid was rejected."
Jewell will talk to the club’s owner before deciding whether to lodge another offer, with other players also in his thoughts: "I’ll discuss that with Marcus.”
