Town central defender Damien Delaney has been named in a provisional Republic of Ireland squad for their friendly against Croatia on Wednesday 10th August. If the 29-year-old is included in the final party he will miss the Blues’ Carling Cup first round tie against Northampton at Portman Road the day before.
Boss Paul Jewell is almost certain to be without a number of senior players for the game against the Cobblers with a full programme of international fixtures that week.
Former Blue Jon Walters and ex-Town loanee Darren O'Dea are also in the squad.
