Jewell: Mentality Needs to Change - Ipswich Town News
Boss Paul Jewell says he needs to change the mentality of a Town team which isn’t used to winning. The Blues manager believes it will take time and more signings to build a squad which is capable of competing at the top of the Championship.
Jewell said: "We’ve worked exceptionally hard over the summer trying to get players in to improve the squad.
"I came in last year with the remit to keep us up and if we were to get promotion next year - or to be in the shake-up - it would be great.
"But I think people are sensible enough to know that we’ve got to change the mentality of the club. The mentality of the team is one that’s not used to winning. That’s not going to change overnight.
"I’ve said all along that we need to improve the squad. I think we’ve made some good signings and hopefully we can make three or four other good signings before the end of the window.”
