Double Deal Delayed Until Tuesday - Ipswich Town News
Town are now expected to complete the signings of Arsenal’s Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Fulham’s David Stockdale on Tuesday. We understand the deal to make striker or midfielder Emmanuel-Thomas a permanent addition is done but that there has been a minor hold-up regarding the paperwork relating to the season-long loan of keeper Stockdale.
Both players were at Portman Road today for talks and for Emmanuel-Thomas to undergo a medical after Town and the Gunners agreed a fee which TWTD now understands to be an initial £1.5 million rising to £2 million with additional clauses.
Terms on Stockdale's loan were agreed with Fulham late last week with the Premier League side insisting on a recall clause in case first choice Mark Schwarzer suffers an injury.
The Blues expect to be able to formally announce the completion of the deals on Tuesday in time for the duo to play in the friendly at Colchester United (KO 7.45pm).
Fans travelling to Colchester without tickets should note they need to buy one at the Ticket Office at the Weston Homes Community Stadium before they can enter via the turnstiles. A Blues following of more than 1,200 is expected to travel to the north Essex club.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match AbandonedTown look set to face a return trip to Blackburn Rovers later in the season after this afternoon’s game was abandoned after 80 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the home side 1-0 up and with the Blues down to 10 men. Jacob Greaves was shown a straight red card four minutes after the break for hauling down Yuki Ohashi, then Rovers skipper Todd Cantwell netted a penalty on 59, but the heavy rain had made the game increasingly farcical the longer it progressed and in the 80th minute referee Stephen Martin took the players off and then 25 minutes later abandoned it entirely.
