Morgan Delighted With Second Win - Ipswich Town News

Academy chief Sammy Morgan was delighted to see the Town U15s pick up their second win at the Milk Cup in his native Northern Ireland yesterday when they beat County Antrim 2-1, Ted Bishop and Byron Lawrence netting the goals. The Blues youngsters, who defeated Americans the South Coast Strikers on Monday, take on Scottish side Queen of the South in their final Junior section group game today.

Morgan said: "We’re pleased with two wins obviously and they have been two hard games and County Antrim gave us a real test.

"We play Queen of South on Wednesday and they haven’t won a game yet, but you just never know what you’re going to get from youngsters!

"It’s shaping up well with four teams on six points, but there are obviously teams just outside that waiting on some of the four to slip up.”

In the Elite U19 section of the competition Town full-time scholars Cody Cropper, Caolan Lavery and Cormac Burke are also in action with their national sides.

Keeper Cropper and the US take on Mexico having beaten Israel 2-0 in their opening game.

Northern Ireland pair Lavery and Burke are likely to be in the team which is up against Georgia, having drawn 1-1 with Denmark on Monday.
