Town target Richard Stearman admits he’ll have a fight on his hands to get in the Wolves side, but says he’s keen to take on the challenge. The 23-year-old is likely to be in action for the Premier League side at some stage of Saturday’s pre-season friendly against the Blues at Portman Road (KO 3pm).
The central defender or right-back said: "It’s going to be a big fight for the shirts at the start of the season and, indeed, throughout the campaign.
"We’ve got great strength in depth there now which can only drive us all on to perform better and try to get in the team. Hopefully, I can perform well and manage to take one of those shirts.”
TWTD reported that the Blues had made an enquiry to Mick McCarthy’s club regarding the former Leicester City man on Thursday.
