Delaney Confirmed in Irish Squad - Ipswich Town News
Defender Damien Delaney has been confirmed in the final 25-man Republic of Ireland squad for their friendly against Croatia in Dublin next Wednesday. The call-up confirms that the 30-year-old, who was named in a larger provisional party a fortnight ago, will miss Town's Carling Cup tie against Northampton the previous night.
The Blues are likely to be without a number of regulars when they face the Cobblers due to the full programme of international fixtures with Tamás Priskin already having been named in Hungary’s squad.
Joining Delaney in Dublin will be Town target Keith Andrews, ex-skipper Jon Walters and former loanee Darren O’Dea, as well as winger Keith Treacy, who has completed his move from Preston to Burnley having been linked with Town earlier in the summer.
