Wright Training at Cardiff - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Paul Jewell has revealed that former Blues keeper Richard Wright is training at Cardiff City. TWTD revealed earlier in the summer that Wright was training at Playford Road to keep himself fit having left Sheffield United at the end of last season.
Jewell said: "I think Richard’s gone to train with Cardiff. He’s been here, he’s a good character Richard, he lives locally and he’s been training here with us doing him a favour, keeping him fit. He’s been impressive in training.”
TWTD reported that former Town goalkeeper-coach James Hollman had joined the Bluebirds in the same role last month.
Wright clearly made an impression on Jewell during his time at Playford Road but the Blues currently don’t have a goalkeeping vacancy.
However, this could potentially change with Márton Fülöp apparently interesting West Brom and with Town certainly needing three goalkeepers with Fulham having a 24-hour recall on loanee David Stockdale.
