Blues boss Paul Jewell says he still hopes to send youngsters such as Ronan Murray and Luke Hyam out on loan to gain experience this season. The Town manager feels younger pros benefit from spells playing in the lower leagues.
Jewell said: "I’d still like to do that. I feel the young players learn more going out on loan and finding out what it’s like in the real world.
"You look around here and the facilities are Premier League standard and not everywhere’s like this. I keep trying stress this to the young players.
"Ronan Murray went off to Torquay last year and really enjoyed himself. It was a bit of an eye-opener for him — the facilities and how tough it is down there.
"I’m hoping it gives those players a hunger to want to succeed at this level. Going and playing football [on loan] will develop them more than playing behind closed doors friendlies and reserve games here. I certainly learnt more about football going to play football in somebody’s first team."
