Hull: Ayala Set for Norwich - Ipswich Town News

Hull City manager Nigel Pearson is reported to have said that he expects Liverpool defender Daniel Ayala to join Norwich City. The Tigers have given up the chase for their former loanee having had an £850,000 offer accepted for the Spaniard last week and with the Blues and Swansea also understood to be chasing the 20-year-old.

Earlier in the week, Blues boss Paul Jewell revealed that the club had made an offer for a central defender — and was still awaiting a response this morning — but said other clubs, including two from the Premier League were also interested: "I think there are about four clubs, including a couple of Premier League clubs in for him as well, so that’s where we are.”

If that player was Ayala, then it seems likely that Jewell will have to continue his lengthy search for additional central defenders.

Pearson is also reported to have said that there are no new developments on Jimmy Bullard’s situation at Hull.
