Jewell: Bullard Pursuit Continues - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Paul Jewell says the Blues have continued their pursuit of former loanee Jimmy Bullard since Saturday’s 7-1 defeat at Peterborough. Having spoken to the 32-year-old last Thursday and his agent on Friday, Jewell talked with them both again yesterday.
Jewell told the club site: "I spoke to Jimmy and his agent twice yesterday and once on Sunday with the owner about him.
"He had a meeting with QPR and there are a couple of other Premier League teams in for him but we are trying to be competitive and we are trying to bring him here.
"Jimmy is going to be very expensive but he does also want to play football, so we are trying to do something with him."
Bullard’s Hull City contract is in the process of being terminated due to an undisclosed indiscretion on a pre-season trip to Slovenia with a host of clubs including Wolves, Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton, Norwich and West Ham all linked in the last few days.
Meanwhile, Town's reserves are in action in a behind-closed-doors game against Colchester United this afternoon.
