Jewell Confirms Blackpool Move for Scotland - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Paul Jewell has confirmed that striker Jason Scotland was the subject of an offer from Blackpool just before the transfer window closed, as revealed by TWTD last Tuesday.

The Tangerines made an offer which we understand was significantly lower than the £350,000 reported at the time and while the clubs discussed a fee the player’s representatives were given the go-ahead to talk to the Lancastrian club.

But Jewell says the two parties failed to reach an agreement: "Blackpool made an enquiry and we gave them permission to speak to Jason. They spoke to his agent but they couldn’t agree personal terms.

"I’m quite happy to keep Jason here. He scored against Leeds and made the winner. I don’t have to move anyone out of the door but I think we have to be fair on people and that’s why we gave Jason permission to talk to Blackpool.

"Jason knows that and I spoke to him about it. There’s no problem and we move on.”
