Bowyer Will Get Better With Games - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Lee Bowyer says that now he’s over his hamstring problem his performances will improve with every game. The 34-year-old returned to the side at Blackpool last week but still looked short on fitness and form as the Blues lost 2-0 to the Seasiders.
Bowyer says he will get better the more he plays: "I still think I've got a lot to show, if I'm honest. With the more games I play the better I feel my performances will become with time.
"Now I'm back fully fit and with another week's training under my belt I feel I can push on now and help the team progress."
The Londoner says the injury was something he had suffered with while at Birmingham but thought he was over: "It was probably my own fault really. I did it at the end of last season and I never strengthened it throughout the summer.
"I just thought it would be OK, but then obviously it got a bit tired and I ended up pulling it again at Southampton.”
The one-time England man says the Championship is a very competitive league with little between most of the clubs: "It's a tough division and anyone can beat anyone on their day.
"Everybody in this league works so hard and there are a whole host of teams that could get into that top three and we need to make sure we are one of those teams come the end of the season."
