Duo in Ireland Squad for Vital Euro Qualifiers - Ipswich Town News

Town duo Keith Andrews and Damien Delaney have been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their two final Euro 2012 qualifiers against Andorra and Armenia next month. Andrews is a regular in Giovanni Trapattoni’s side and has won 22 caps, scoring two goals, while Delaney is on the fringes, having been capped five times.

Ireland are in Andorra on Friday 7th October and then host Armenia at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin four days later.

Victory in both games would ensure second place in their group and a play-off place, but automatic qualification for the finals is still possible. Ex-Town skipper Jon Walters is also in the squad, as is former loanee Darren O’Dea.

Republic of Ireland: Shay Given (Aston Villa), Keiren Westwood (Sunderland), David Forde (Millwall), John O'Shea (Sunderland), Kevin Foley (Wolves), Stephen Kelly (Fulham), Stephen Ward (Wolves), Richard Dunne (Aston Villa), Kevin Kilbane (Derby), Sean St Ledger (Leicester), Darren O'Dea (Leeds), Damien Delaney (Ipswich), Glenn Whelan (Stoke), James McCarthy (Wigan), Seamus Coleman (Everton), Keith Andrews (Ipswich) Keith Fahey (Birmingham), Andy Keogh (Leeds), Damien Duff (Fulham), Aiden McGeady (Spartak Moscow), Stephen Hunt (Wolves), Liam Lawrence (Portsmouth), Robbie Keane (Los Angeles Galaxy), Kevin Doyle (Wolves), Shane Long (West Brom), Simon Cox (West Brom), Jon Walters (Stoke).
