Peralta Debut Likely - Ipswich Town News

Sixto Peralta, Town's loanee Argentinian from Internazionale, looks likely to make his debut for Town's first team tonight at Crewe. Manager George Burley has promised to give one or two players a chance at Gresty Road and after promising performances in the reserves 'Mumo' looks like he'll get a game.

He has also provided valuable information on UEFA Cup opponents Helsingborgs after being involved against them for Inter last year. The Italian side lost to The Swedes over two legs in a Champions' League qualifier.

Some of the bigger name Town players will be missing tonight with Finidi George amongst those expected to be left out. Matt Holland will be keen to keep his appearance record going, but may be on the bench as he was at Millwall last season. Holland came on as a second half sub to keep his record intact.

Town manager George Burley has said he was abroad watching an international match over the weekend.

His target is unclear, although he says he didn't particularly enjoy the match: "It was not the best game I have ever seen."

Burley also plans to meet up with Scandinavian Scout Simon Hunt to run the rule over Helsingborgs.

Both Town players out on loan look likely to continue their spells away from Portman Road. Wayne Brown is currently at Wimbledon while James Pullen is at Blackpool.

Brown has enjoyed a successful first spell at Selhurst Park and manager Terry Burton has said he will seek to extend his period there for another month. George Burley would he happy for him to do so.

Pullen has just completed his second month at Bloomfield Road and the Town boss says a third month is not a problem with him.

The Town boss has also revealed that if a bid came in for Amir Karic he would not stand in the way of the Slovenian leaving. Yesterday Karic said there was interest in taking him on loan from an Italian club.
