Lavery Turns Down Deal - Ipswich Town News
TWTD understands that academy striker Caolan Lavery has turned down the professional contract which he was offered last week. The Northern Ireland U21 international’s academy scholarship is due to end this month after it was extended when he suffered a knee injury last season.
The Canada-born frontman was offered a deal until the end of the season but is believed to want a longer-term contract with the club he joined from school in the summer of 2009.
Last season, academy manager Sammy Morgan dismissed reports linking Tottenham Hotspur with the 18-year-old, while Leicester were understood to be monitoring his progress with other clubs also likely to have been keeping a watching brief.
Lavery has netted five goals in seven FA Premier Academy League games for the U18s this season plus a further four for the reserves.
