Town Linked With Free Move For Andrews - Ipswich Town News
Town will reportedly try to sign midfielder Keith Andrews on a free transfer from Blackburn when the Irishman’s loan ends in January. The 31-year-old has another 18 months on his contract but is very much out of favour at Ewood Park and has no intention of returning to the Lancashire club.
Andrews has said he would be interested in extending his Portman Road stay beyond January, while Blues boss Paul Jewell is similarly keen to keep the one-time MK Dons man in his squad.
Blackburn may be willing to consider such a move to remove Andrews's contract from their books, although it's likely that the Blues' five-goal joint-top scorer would probably look for a pay-off with his wages almost certainly set for a drop if he joins Town on a permanent basis.
