Youths Lose - Ipswich Town News

Town's youths lost 1-0 last night to their Leeds counterparts in an entertaining game at Portman Road. Leeds scored the winner through Dale Crawford after sixteen minutes.

Leeds started the better side with Town looking weak, but gradually the Blues took over and were much the better side in the second half.

Town's most impressive player on the night was Ed Chibogu playing up front who outshone his more famous partner Richard Logan before being replaced injured at half-time.

Town are again rumoured to be interested in Luton's Matthew Spring. The midfielder is said to have had a £1 million price put on his head by manager Lenny Lawrence. If Town are interested then one possibility could be that Spring could join Town in a cash plus Neil Midgley deal. The striker has just completed a two month loan spell with the Hatters and is keen to join permanently.

George Burley has reiterated that he is still looking for players and has said that a loan signing might be a possibility in order to strengthen his squad. However, he doesn't expect anyone to come in by the weekend.

Town have Odd Inge Olsen, a Norwegian on trial. Olseon, who plays for FC Molde plays in this afternoon's reserve match at Barnet (KO 2pm).
