Town Amongst Clubs Linked With Newport Defender - Ipswich Town News
Town are one of a number of clubs said to be keeping an eye on Newport County defender Andrew Hughes. The 19-year-old is also reported to be interesting Coventry City and Charlton Athletic.
Left-back Hughes, a former Wales Schoolboys international, joined Newport’s youth set-up after previously spending time with hometown club Cardiff.
He made his first team debut for County in 2008 and has now become a regular for the Blue Square Bet Premier side.
Former Town striker Darryl Knights is a team-mate of Hughes at Newport, while Ipswich-born keeper Danny Potter is another member of the Exiles’ side.
