Sonko and Murphy Out - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Paul Jewell has ruled defender Ibrahima Sonko and striker Daryl Murphy are out of Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest due to their hamstring problems. Lee Bowyer (hamstring and back) and Nathan Ellington (calf) are both available after recovering from their knocks.
Jewell said: "Sonko is struggling and Daryl Murphy will train for the first time this morning but it’s a bit early for him.”
The Blues boss says the Senegalese international is on the mend after suffering the injury in the game at Millwall: "He's improving all the time and the two-week international break has given him a chance to get his hamstring right, but we really need to get to the bottom of it and make sure he's fully fit before he returns to match action.
"So Sonks is definitely out but Lee Bowyer has been training with us all week, as has Nathan Ellington, which is encouraging."
Jewell is still waiting for his international players to return but has had no reports of any injuries.
