Midfielder Jimmy Bullard is reportedly set to start the process of appealing against his sacking by Hull City this week. The 33-year-old exited the KC Stadium in the summer for a still-to-be-disclosed disciplinary matter on the Tigers’ pre-season trip to Slovenia.
Bullard, who had two years remaining on his £45,000-a-week Hull contract, has appealed to the Football League with his legal team understood to be meeting with a disciplinary panel this week where it will be decided whether he has a case. The player believes he is entitled to the difference between his Hull contract and his earnings with Town during that period, a figure believed to be in the region of £2 million.
The Tigers are reportedly set to argue that Bullard, who has hired top barrister Nick De Marco to represent him, is no longer able to appeal now that he has joined the Blues.
If the Football League refuse to allow the appeal, it is possible the matter could go as far as the High Court.
