Striker Ronan Murray has joined League Two Swindon Town on loan until January 14th. The 20-year-old is yet to feature for the Blues first team this season but scored two and created one as the reserves beat West Ham 3-2 on Tuesday.
Speaking earlier today, Town manager Paul Jewell said he was keen to get the Irish U21 international out on loan to play matches: "I had a call from them this morning and hopefully that will go through.
"I’ve been trying to get him fixed up all year because I think he’ll score goals at that level and needs to get games under his belt.
"If he goes and plays games there for a month it’ll give him confidence. He’s a great kid. He went to Torquay last year and got the odd goal and if he can go somewhere else and play it’ll give him a huge boost.”
Murray says he's delighted to be making the move: "I need to be playing first team football and joining Swindon is a great opportunity for me to do that.
"I know the manager has been looking for the right club to get me out on loan and he feels this is a great move for me and I'm really looking forward to it.
"Swindon are doing well in League Two and hopefully I can play my part in helping the club push on."
This afternoon's loan deadline passed with no further additions to the Town squad.
