Murray Nets for Swindon - Ipswich Town News
Striker Ronan Murray netted the first goal of his loan spell at Swindon to help the Robins to beat Southend 2-1 at Roots Hall and see them into the southern area final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy where they will meet Barnet.
Murray, who is with the Wiltshire club for a month, came on as a sub on 80 and netted the winner with a header two minutes later.
Robins boss Paolo Di Canio was pleased with the 20-year-old’s brief performance: "He arrived in the box at a good moment and did well. He attacked the space in the right way and got his reward with the goal. He came on and did well.”
The Irish striker later tweeted his congratulations to the Town academy side: "Buzzin' we are through! And well done Ipswich U18s on their win!"
