Ingimarsson Breaks Nose - Ipswich Town News
Icelandic defender Ãvar Ingimarsson has been ruled out of Saturday’s live Sky game at Barnsley after breaking his nose in training (KO 5.20pm). Town boss Paul Jewell is still waiting on skipper Grant Leadbitter, who has returned to training after a groin injury.
Jewell said: "Ãvar Ingimarsson broke his nose in training on Monday, Cody Cropper came out and caught him a cropper and he looks like he’s been 12 rounds with Mike Tyson. He had it reset on yesterday and he was in this morning with two black eyes.
"Grant’s trained this morning, whether he’ll be fit enough for the weekend, I don’t know. We’ve still got Richard Wright out with his shoulder injury and Damien Delaney is making good progress with his foot injury.”
David Stockdale and Ibrahima Sonko came through last week’s game against Watford without a problem.
Jewell revealed that midfielder Jamie Griffiths, who was on loan at Plymouth earlier in the season, is currently training with Colchester United with his Town contract up at the end of the month.
