Helsingborgs Anthrax Threat - Ipswich Town News
Suffolk police were angry last night after an Anthrax hoax at the hotel where Helsingborgs IF were staying. An envelope containing a white powder was pushed under the door of Helsingborgs manager Nanne Bergstrand, but this turned out to be an energy drink.
There was a major alert at the Stoke-by-Nayland Golf Complex where the Swedes were staying with police and fire-crews involved.
Two men were given police warnings and it seems to have been a prank played by two other hotel guests. Not something however, the police were terribly amused by, a Suffolk police spokesman: "It was quickly established that this was a practical joke played by another guest. While it is now clear there was no malicious intent behind the prank, I cannot emphasise enough the foolishness of the action of these people."
