Town striker Tamás Priskin is a target of Russian side Alania Vladikavkaz, according to his agent. Priskin recently returned from a short-term loan spell at Derby County.
Alania, who the Blues played in a friendly in Cyprus late in the 2001/02 campaign, are currently top of the Russian second division.
Several other clubs are also keen on the Hungarian international, according to his agent Jozsef Vorosbaranyi, but with Alania heading the race: "We can say that there is considerable interest, but I want to emphasise that two or three teams are seriously interested and nothing is decided yet."
Priskin’s Town contract is up at the end of the season and the Blues would probably ask only a nominal fee for the 25-year-old or may be willing to allow him to move out on a free transfer in order to remove his wages from their books.
The frontman joined Town from Watford for £1.7 million in the summer of 2009 and has scored nine goals in 35 starts and 24 sub appearances, spending loan spells at QPR and Swansea in addition to Derby.
Meanwhile, Jewell says he has talked to a couple of his potential January targets, whose current sides evidently met the Blues on one of their better nights this season: "I spoke to two players last night about coming here — two players in different teams — and they said we’re the best team that have come to our place have been Ipswich.
"It’s just the consistency and the giving goals away that’s put us in the situation we’re in.”
