Blackburn manager Steve Kean has confirmed that former Blues loanee could come back into his plans at Ewood Park, as reported by TWTD last week. However, Kean says there is plenty of interest in the Irish international, who Town boss Paul Jewell wants back at Portman Road, with Premier League clubs including Wigan believed to be in the chase for the 31-year-old.
Kean said: "Keith is now in dialogue with the club, on Wednesday he was in dialogue with the directors. I think there’ll be interest from other places for Keith.
"He’s gone away and had a good loan spell but he’s still got 18 months on his contract here. If nothing happens then he’s still under contract.
"The fact he’s been out, played well, scored goals — and before that done well in internationals, he’ll be a part of things for us moving forward — if he doesn’t move.
"I don’t know if we will be asking for a fee for him. I pass that on to the directors to negotiate the exit or the purchase. I’ve got other things on my plate at the moment.”
Meanwhile, former Blue Danny Haynes has rejoined Charlton from Barnsley. Haynes was with the Addicks prior to moving to Town's Academy.
Elsewhere, ex-Blue Richard Naylor, 34, has signed for Rotherham until the end of the season after leaving Doncaster.
