Town Lodge Three Bids - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Paul Jewell has revealed that he has lodged bids for three players. The Blues manager is looking to strengthen throughout his squad during the January transfer window.

Jewell told the club site: "We have been in contact with two clubs today and offers have been made for three players.

"It's early stages and we will see how things develop. It's a case of waiting for a response but obviously we are looking to strengthen the squad.

"We have got a few injuries but hopefully we will have some additions to the squad before the Leeds game next weekend. As I said, though, we will have to wait and see."

Meanwhile, midfielder Andy Drury says he and the rest of the squad are frustrated after letting their two goal lead slip against Blackpool: "The boys are a bit gutted after playing so well, but then letting a lead slip like that.

"I thought we did well enough to take all three points today and we're all a bit frustrated, more than anything, in the dressing room to have only drawn the game.

"We maybe could have won it at the end with Lee's chance but we've taken a point and we have to focus on the next game now and prepare for that."

Elsewhere, striker Ronan Murray has returned to the Blues at the end of his loan at Swindon. The 20-year-old has tweeted that the clubs are in discussions regarding his permanent move to the County Ground: "Now going back to Ipswich because my loan is up today. The clubs are talking at the minute so I'm stuck in the middle!"

Murray came off the bench in today's 2-1 win at Rotherham, his sixth sub appearance in addition to four starts and having scored two goals.

Former Blue Jimmy Juan scored on his debut for Chesterfield as the Spireites drew 1-1 at Leyton Orient.
