Crewe Bid Reportedly Turned Down - Ipswich Town News
Reports from Cheshire claim Town have had a £2 million offer for Crewe’s 17-year-old midfielder Nick Powell turned down. The England U18 international is the third player the Blues made a bid for over the weekend.
Town would appear to be outsiders for Powell’s signature with Arsenal and Chelsea understood to be amongst a pack of Premier League clubs chasing the latest talent to roll off the Gresty Road conveyor belt.
Speaking earlier this month, Alex manager Steve Davis said he felt Powell needed to spend longer with the League Two club: "Nick is a young lad and in my opinion he’s not ready to go anywhere yet.
"He’s at the best club for his education and when the time is right, he’ll go.”
