JET's Tribute to Brother - Ipswich Town News

Blues striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has had a new tattoo done in tribute to his brother, who was killed in tragic circumstances 11 years ago.

The Town star has added to his collection of body artwork in memory of Jason, who was just 20 when he drowned in London in May 2001.

Emmanuel-Thomas said: "I had it done last Thursday but it is something I have wanted to do for some time. I have a tattoo designer who drew up a few suggestions but they weren’t really what I wanted.

"Then she came back to me with one that I really liked and I told her ‘That’s the one’. I have quite a few tattoos but this is my favourite, the one that means the most to me.”

Meanwhile, the former Arsenal player has admitted he is laid-back by nature and it is a trait he takes on to the pitch with him.

He said: "That’s the type of person I am and the manager knew that when he signed me in the summer. I’m an attacking, creative type of player.

"But just because I’m not a hunting type of midfield player who goes around kicking everyone, it doesn’t mean I’m not going to make a tackle when I need to. I’m not going to move out of the way.”
