Healy Rejoins Cork City - Ipswich Town News

Former Blue Colin Healy has rejoined his hometown club Cork City. The 31-year-old, who left Turners Cross for Portman Road for £70,000 in the summer of 2009, had his Blues contract terminated by mutual consent in November.

Cork manager Tommy Dunne said: "We are delighted that Colin is back at Cork City Football Club. He is obviously a very talented player with a wealth of experience at the very top level of football, and he will be an excellent addition to our side.

"He was an impressive performer in his previous spell with the club, and I am delighted that he has decided to come back home after a successful spell with Ipswich Town, and I am confident he will bring a lot to our squad.”

Healy added: "I am delighted to be back at Cork City. I know a lot of the players here from my previous spell at the club, and that will make it easy for me to settle in.

"Obviously I have worked with Tommy before, when Paul [Doolin] was here, and I am looking forward to doing so again. I just want to crack on now, get back training and start playing games again.”

Cork are also looking to sign another ex-Blue Shane O’Connor, although Shamrock Rovers, Dundalk and a couple of English clubs are also interested.
