Crawley boss Steve Evans has revealed that his club has received “three or four” offers for striker Tyrone Barnett, who we reported was very much on the Blues’ radar on Thursday. Barnett helped the League Two Red Devils to a 1-0 FA Cup victory over Hull City on Saturday with Town represented at the KC Stadium.
Evans said: "When we left Crawley [on Friday] I think there were three or four bids for Matt Tubbs the directors were sitting on, and three or four for the other striker, Tyrone Barnett, and four or five for [defender] Kyle McFadzean, who I thought was the best player on the pitch by a mile today."
Blues boss Paul Jewell recently dismissed reports that Tubbs was a Blues target but we understand Barnett is definitely on the Town manager’s list of potential signings before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
Barnett recently turned down a switch to Blackpool after the Seasiders had had an offer understood to be around the £750,000 mark accepted by Crawley.
The 26-year-old’s situation may be slightly complicated by Crawley flying to Portugal for a training camp shortly after Saturday’s match.
